My Spiritual Bookshelf
I'm avid reader & I've been reading all sorts of esoteric books since I was around 6 years old. There are many books I've forgotten, there's plenty more that have shaped my journey & my life profoundly.
I wanted to share the books with you that I found helpful along the way. Some were helpful because they explained a concept I wasn't grasping, some told me about a subject that I'd never come across before & subsequently blew me away! I often re-read these books, bringing with me, my more educated mind. I love books that keep giving layer after layer. Read whatever you're drawn to, this is not a mandatory list, just me sharing my journey with you.
Reading Guidelines
Although these are books I've really enjoyed & in some cases I've read them more than once, please take onboard the following:
- I've been on my spiritual journey since I was 5 years old so I've got decades of learning under my belt.
- My journey isn't your journey
- As I've learned more, grown more & become more knowledgeable & had a ton of my own experiences, some of what I've read no longer resonates for me, for instance The Celestine Phrophecy whilst mind blowing at the time, I can no longer read, I tried recently - to me it's like doing basic maths having taken advanced maths at degree level! Some books I'm still growing into!
- As a child I believed in aliens, as an adult I dismissed it. Now, I am more open to aliens as I do believe there has to be more than just us humans in the universe, I'm just not fully on board. There are other subjects that never hit my radar until I was ready so if something doesn't resonate for you now, revisit it later.
- I don't believe everything I read, I allow my intuition to help me.
- I've tried to add the books in the order I read them so the ones furthest down the page will be the ones I read earliest, you don't have to read them in the same order as me though.
I can't recall all the books I've read, there are way too many, however, I do tend to keep the ones that I feel I will need again, whether to re-read or to help me write a workshop. I will continue to add books as I discover them & read them. Hopefully when you are looking these books up, you'll discover other books that grab you, please do share those with me, they may be my next great read!
All these books should be available from any major bookstore, if you can support a local business then please use them.

Your Soul's Plan

I actually read Rob Schwartz's books the wrong way round, so although this is the first book, I read it second but it doesn't really matter I don't think. I read this in 2014, shortly after reading Your Soul's Plan as I was so excited & blown away by that book.
Having read Your Soul's Gift, I was avidly looking for more knowledge, this book didn't disappoint.
The book title pretty much tells you exactly what this book offers & as someone who has always had a deep drive to understand the 'why' of the things that happen to us, this book was the perfect read as it totally showed me why XYZ happen to us. It has nothing to do with karma or punishment.
I read this avidly, soaking up everything I could & it was a great read. It didn't fry my circuits, but then I'd already absorbed what I learned in the other book, it still impacted me though.
Wherever you are on the reincarnation belief spectrum, this book & Schwartz's other book will really make you sit up & think.
This is another book that I recommend on my workshops, tell people about & have kept on my shelf to read again & again.
Your Soul's Gift

I actually read Rob Schwartz's books the wrong way round, so although this is the second book, I read it first but it doesn't really matter I don't think.
I can honestly say that when I read this book, back in 2014 it fried my circuits! This book really delved into a subject that totally changed how I looked at myself, my family, my life etc.
It's written as case studies so you can read a case study then put it down & come back to it later.
I truly got more out of this book than I expected, but not from the case studies I imagined! Being adopted, I really thought it would be insightful on that, in fact it was the chapter about pets that did it instead.
Wherever you are on the reincarnation belief spectrum, this book & Schwartz's other book will really make you sit up & think.
I see client's that have their own stories or situations but the knowledge I have from these books & further studies I've done, not to mention my own mediumship experiences, have really helped me to develop my spiritual knowledge, expand my compassion & come at life's curveballs with a totally different perspective.
This is one I've had to read many times and I will read it again. I was so fascinated by being able to see/hear people's Soul Plan's & if I'm honest, jealous! As of 2025 I have been able to direct someone through their Soul Plan to get to the part they need to understand so they can get past that block now & heal, grow etc.
Sacred Contracts

I spent years trying to figure out what my 'purpose' in life was, so I totally understand that for many people this is a burning issue. Over the years I've read for so many people who've asked me that question 'what is my purpose'?
I read this book because I'm always looking for ways to help my clients & my students to find their purpose, I certainly believe it is more powerful to discover our purpose for ourselves, rather than be told it by someone. Caroline Myss, delves into the soul contracts, archetypes & energies we hold, to help us learn more about who we are & why we're here. I've also read her other books, which are fantastic too.
I still use my knowledge on archetypes within my readings, my teaching & my coaching. I hope you find this book as fascinating as I do.
Ask Your Guides

This book is fiction rather than self-development but it really made me think about the whole reincarnation, soul contract subject & I loved that it made me need to learn more about a subject I was fascinated by. Here's the book overview:
Daniel has spent centuries falling in love with the same girl. Life after life, crossing continents and dynasties, he and Sophia (despite her changing name and form) have been drawn together-and he remembers it all. Daniel has "the memory", the ability to recall past lives and recognize souls of those he's previously known. It is a gift and a curse. For all the times that he and Sophia have been drawn together throughout history, they have also been torn painfully, fatally, apart. A love always too short.
Interwoven through Sophia and Daniel's unfolding present day relationship are glimpses of their expansive history together. From 552 Asia Minor to 1918 England and 1972 Virginia, the two souls share a long and sometimes torturous path of seeking each other time and time again. But just when young Sophia (now "Lucy" in the present) finally begins to awaken to the secret of their shared past, to understand the true reason for the strength of their attraction, the mysterious force that has always torn them apart reappears. Ultimately, they must come to understand what stands in the way of their love if they are ever to spend a lifetime together.
A magical, suspenseful, heartbreaking story of true love, My Name is Memory proves the power and endurance of a union that was meant to be.
I cried many times through this book but I love it most for making me question & think.
Love Money, Money Loves You

I tend to find that trying to uncover our own beliefs can be quite tricky, it's often obvious to the outsider, but not us! I heard Sarah on a podcast & I found it intriguing that she created an avatar for money & then worked with it to help change her finances.
I have no idea what blocks if any I had around money, I've certainly never seen it as bad or dirty, so after hearing her podcast, I decided to get her book & try the methods she recommended. It was deeply interesting to work through the book & I stumbled across her again recently so I'm probably due a re-read soon.
Do you find that abundance & wealth either come & go or avoid you totally? You'll probably find this book interesting & hopefully life changing.
Your Body Speaks Your Mind

I'd been into healing since I did my training with the National Federation of Healing (NFSH) around 2005. I didn't really gel with the rigidity of the NFSH though so I didn't follow through with it. To be honest, I was actually more interested in developing my link with Spirit so at that stage I wasn't really into healing as such.
In 2012 I finished becoming a Reiki Master & Teacher, it was at this point my friend & mentor Jill Larking told me about this book and it just really resonated.
Deb Shapiro really delved into the mind-body connection & how the emotions we experience but don't process, remain trapped in the subconcious, only showing up as physical health issues, which is the signal to go and take care of them.
This book was my personal healing bible, until it got so out of date I needed a newer book to work with. You'll find that book here in my spiritual bookshelp - Metaphysical Anatomy by Evette Rose.
I still use Shapiro's book now, but I use the Evette Rose book more. Shapiro's writings on the mind-body connection are still very valid, it's just her list of health issues needed expanding, it doesn't cover fibromyalgia for instance, mainly because that's exploded since she wrote her book.
Ask Your Guides

I fall in and out of love with Sonai Choquette, I've no idea why though!
Over the years I've read many of her books & been part of her membership programme & I've learned a lot from her.
This book really expanded on my knowledge of Spirit Guides & helped me discover new ways to communicate with them.
I'd definitely recommend this book & her other books, go with whatever you're drawn to.
I still dip in and out of this book & it will stay on my bookshelf for that reason.
The Tarot Bible

Life changing!
I read this back in 2008/09 & it did literally change my life.
I'd struggled to master the tarot, but I needed to because I'd been suspended from the phone lines where I was doing readings because my readings were a bit hit or miss.
I've had tarot cards since my 20s & never really got to grips with them, this book however, helped me change that.
The book is beautifully illustrated & it uses the Rider-Waite deck of tarot. I worked my way through the book & taught myself to read the tarot in an intuitive way, which is also how I teach tarot, which you'll have found out if you've had a reading with me or taken my tarot workshop.
There's a whole series of books iin the bible series, so pick a subject & look up the book.
Seth Speaks

Seth is an entity that speaks through Jane Roberts whilst she is in trance & has a huge amount to say about the spiritual & human realms.
Seth shows us how our thoughts & beliefs shape our reality.
I'll be honest, I found it quite heavy going, so it won't be for everyone.
Over the years I have done some trance work, it isn't something that I'm particularly passionate about though so I've never really pursued it.
The Oversoul Seven Trilogy

Jane Roberts was huge in the 1970's so this book was old even by the time I read it!
Whilst creating this information for you, I found out it was actually written the year I was born!!!!
Jane Roberts is renowned for writing her books whilst in trance (a deep meditative state) & hers was the first published book that had been channelled - that we know of!
The books are all about a soul that has chosen to be a Spirit Guide & starts with them in training. It's still the only book of it's kind that I know of.
The main character is known as Oversoul Seven & it follws their trials and tribulations of learning to be a Spirit Guide as well as how that impacts the humans on earth, they are guiding.
It's a book I've picked up and put down many times over the years, I still pick up new knowledge from it.
The Celestine Phrophecy

This book came out in 1994 and it was huge!I I first read this book in 1996, because in 1994-1995 I'm pretty sure I was spiritually 'asleep' due to life events. This book totally woke me up & I'm so grateful for it finding me.
James wrote this book originally as fiction, however, he's since said that his publisher thought nobody would believe it if it was non-fiction.
As the unfolding of a spiritual journey it's fantastic, however, I've grown so much since I read this in 1996, it's one of the few books I just can't read any more as it's way to simple & basic for where I'm at now.
Seven Spiritual Laws of Success

I first came across this book in 1993 but I wasn't ready for Deepak or for this book, it stayed with me though until I was ready to try again in 2020 when I was more able to accept it's wisdom.
I sort of see this book as the Ten Commandments but way more spiritual!
