Let’s Talk Astral Projection

Have you ever had a dream so vivid it felt more real than waking life? Or found yourself floating above your body during deep meditation or sleep? You may have already experienced astral projection — without even realising it.

In this post, we’re diving into what astral projection is, why it happens, how to explore it safely, and how it can support your spiritual growth and intuition.

What Is Astral Projection?

Astral projection, also known as an out-of-body experience (OBE), is when your consciousness or soul separates from your physical body and travels through the astral planes — a subtle, energetic realm that exists beyond the physical world. Think along the lines of heaven or the Akashic Records, they’re all spiritual dimensions.

It’s a natural spiritual ability we all have, but most of us aren’t taught how to use it consciously. You might experience it during sleep, meditation, trauma, or altered states of awareness.

If you’ve ever woken up just as tired as when you went to bed, it’s pretty likely that you’ve been off on the astral planes.

It’s not imagination, and it’s not “woo” — it’s a real energetic experience where your soul or astral body explores other realms, receives guidance, or heals on deep levels.

Why Does Astral Projection Happen?

Astral projection can occur for many reasons:

  • Spontaneously during dreams or energy healing
  • During trauma or illness (as a form of soul preservation)
  • Intentionally through spiritual practice & training
  • In times of awakening, when your intuition, psychic senses, or soul gifts are activating

It’s often a sign you’re evolving — that you’re beginning to remember your multidimensional nature. Many of my clients find that their first conscious experience opens the door to deeper spiritual exploration, soul retrieval, and even past life awareness.

Is Astral Projection Dangerous?

It’s completely natural to feel a bit nervous about the unknown, especially when you’re travelling without your physical body. The truth is: astral projection is not dangerous when done with intention, protection, and grounding.

However, here are some things to keep in mind:

  • Fear attracts low vibrations — approach astral travel with calm confidence
  • Always ground and protect your energy beforehand (more on that below)
  • Set a clear intention for where you want to go or what you want to learn
  • Stay aware — you’re always connected to your physical body and can return instantly by simply thinking of it

How Astral Projection Helps You Grow

Astral travel isn’t just a party trick — it can be a powerful tool for your spiritual evolution. It allows you to:

  • Reconnect with soul wisdom and past life knowledge
  • Explore spirit realms, Akashic Records, or healing temples
  • Receive direct guidance from your Higher Self, spirit guides, or ancestors
  • Understand your purpose with greater clarity
  • Clear energetic blocks or unresolved trauma from the past
  • Allows your soul to help souls around the world & in alternate dimensions

As you develop the skill, you may notice a massive upgrade in your intuition, psychic ability, and connection to your soul.

How to Develop Astral Projection as a Skill

Just like meditation, intuition, or channelling, astral projection is a muscle — the more you practise, the stronger it gets.

Here’s how to begin:

1. Ground Your Energy First

Anchor yourself in your body before lifting off. Feel your feet, connect to the Earth, use breathwork, and visualise roots growing from your spine.

2. Create a Protective Energy Field

Surround yourself in golden or violet light. Call in your guides, angels, or any protective energy you resonate with. Say an affirmation like, “Only love and light may travel with me.”

3. Set a Clear Intention

Be specific: “I wish to visit a healing space in the astral realm” or “I want to meet my spirit guide.”

4. Use Guided Meditations or Binaural Beats

These help to shift your brainwaves into a trance-like theta state where astral projection is easier to access.

5. Practise Stillness

Lie comfortably, eyes closed, and allow your body to fall asleep while your mind stays awake. You might feel vibrations, floating, or hear sounds — all signs you’re close to separating from your body.

6. Journal Afterwards

Capture what you saw, felt, or learned. This strengthens the connection between your conscious mind and your astral experiences.

Final Thoughts

Astral projection isn’t just about travel — it’s about trusting yourself, expanding your consciousness, and deepening your connection to the unseen realms that are always here to guide you.

If you’ve already had experiences like this, or you’re curious to explore, know that this is part of your soul remembering.
