Reiki Practitioner Training with Tracy Fance
As a Reiki Master and Practitioner in both Usui Shiki Ryoho Reiki and Angel Reiki, I offer training from Level I through to Master Practitioner and Teacher level in both styles.
Reiki is one of the most versatile healing tools I know. It works for your own healing and development, it supports the people you care about, and for those who want to offer it professionally, it provides a solid and deeply respected foundation for a healing practice.
Wherever you are on your journey, whether you are drawn to Reiki for your own wellbeing, for your personal and spiritual development, or because you want to support others, there is a path here for you.
Read on to understand the difference between the two styles and find the one that feels right.

What Is Usui Reiki?
Usui Shiki Ryoho Reiki is the most widely practised form of Reiki in the world and the foundation of almost all modern Reiki systems. It was rediscovered by Mikao Usui in Japan in the early 1900s and has been taught and refined ever since. Techincally Angel Reiki came before Usui).
In Usui Reiki, the practitioner channels universal life force energy through their hands to the recipient, supporting the body's natural ability to heal on physical, emotional and energetic levels. It is a structured, learnable system with clear hand positions, symbols and techniques that you develop and refine over time.
For your own healing and development, the daily self-Reiki practice is one of the most powerful tools available. The 21 day cleanse that follows your attunement begins a process of clearing, recalibration and deepening self-awareness that many people describe as genuinely life-changing. For supporting others, Usui Reiki gives you a complete, professionally accredited toolkit that is trusted and recognised worldwide.
What Is Angel Reiki?
Angel Reiki is a powerful healing modality where the practitioner acts as a pure channel for the angelic realm. Rather than directing the healing process themselves, the practitioner creates the space and the angels determine what is needed. The healing that comes through is tailored precisely to the individual receiving it, touching the physical, emotional and spiritual layers simultaneously.
What makes Angel Reiki distinctive is its gentleness alongside its depth. It is one of the most profound healing experiences many people have ever encountered, and yet it arrives softly. There are no complex hand movements, no symbols to memorise, no chanting. The practitioner simply holds the channel and the angelic kingdom does the rest.
For your own healing and development, Angel Reiki creates a direct and permanent link with the angelic realm that you can draw on daily. For supporting others, it offers a healing experience unlike anything else because the intelligence of the angelic kingdom directs the session to exactly what is needed, which is often not what either the practitioner or the recipient expected.
The History of Angel Reiki
Angel Reiki predates Usui Reiki, which was rediscovered by Mikao Usui in the 1800s. Angel Reiki was given to humanity by the angelic kingdom during Lemurian times and was also practised in Atlantis before being lost when Atlantis fell. It was restored for this age through channelling and carries the pure energy of the angelic kingdom directly.
How Do They Differ?
Both are powerful. Both work. The key differences come down to how they work and what draws you to them.
In Usui Reiki, the practitioner plays an active role. You learn hand positions, symbols and techniques. You direct the energy. You develop your own skill and sensitivity as a healer over time. It is a structured, learnable system that gives you clear tools to use on yourself and others.
In Angel Reiki, the practitioner steps back. Your role is to hold the channel, not to facilitate. The angelic kingdom determines what is needed and delivers it. This suits people who feel drawn to working with angels, who want to get out of their own way in a healing session, and who are comfortable with a more intuitive, less structured process.
Neither is better than the other. They serve different people and different purposes, and some practitioners train in both.
Who Can Learn Reiki?
Anyone. Truly.
You do not need any prior experience of energy healing, spirituality or any particular belief system. What you do need is a genuine intention to learn and an openness to the energy.
People come to Reiki training for many different reasons.
Some come because they want tools to support their own healing and wellbeing. Some come because they want to support the people they love. Some are already working as therapists, coaches or holistic practitioners and want to add a deeply effective energetic layer to their existing work. And some simply feel called to it without being entirely sure why. That is the most common reason of all, and it is as valid as any other.
Which Is Best For Me?
If you feel drawn to working with the angelic realm and prefer an intuitive, channelled approach where you trust the energy to direct itself, Angel Reiki will likely resonate most deeply.
If you prefer a structured, learnable system with clear tools and techniques that you can develop and refine over time, Usui Reiki is likely the better fit.
If you are not sure, I have made a short video that walks you through the differences and helps you feel into which path is right for you.
