You might feel curious about your intuition & working spiritually…but at the same time, a little unsure.

Not always in a way you can explain.

Just a quiet sense of:

“Is this safe?”

“What if I don’t understand what’s happening?”

“What if I open something I can’t close?”

And if you’ve ever felt like that, you’re not alone.

It’s something I hear all the time.

The Fear Behind Spiritual Work

Some people tell me they’re scared to explore anything spiritual.

Others don’t even use the word “scared”…but you can feel the hesitation.

And often, when we look a little closer, that fear has been shaped by:

– things they’ve seen in films or read in books

– stories about possession or hauntings

– or simply the unknown

So their mind fills in the gaps.

And when something feels unknown…it can feel unsafe.

So Let’s Ground This

When spiritual work is done properly, it’s safe.

And more importantly…

You are not as open or vulnerable as you might think.

You already have a natural system in place that protects you.

What Are Doorkeepers (or Gatekeepers)?

In my work, I often refer to doorkeepers or gatekeepers.

You can think of them as your energetic boundary.

I sometimes describe mine as a bouncer.

Not in a dramatic way…

Just in a very practical, grounded sense of:

  • What is allowed in
  • What is not
  • What feels safe
  • What doesn’t

Why You Have One

You’re not navigating life on your own.

Whether you’re aware of it or not, you have a wider support system around you.

You might call this:

– Your intuition

– Your awareness

– Your inner knowing

Or, if you’re open to it:

– Your spiritual team

Either way…

There is a part of you that already knows how to filter what feels right and what doesn’t.

What Your Gatekeeper Actually Does

Your gatekeeper’s role is simple:

To ensure that anything connecting with you is aligned and safe.

It’s not about fear.

It’s not about something getting “in”.

It’s about discernment.

That natural sense you already have in everyday life:

  • When someone feels easy to be around
  • When something feels slightly off
  • When a decision feels right… or not

That’s the same system.

So Why Do People Still Feel Unsure?

Because most people don’t trust it.

You might notice this in yourself…

You feel something…and then you question it.

You sense something isn’t right…and then talk yourself out of it.

You override that first instinct because it doesn’t make logical sense.

Where the Real Risk Comes From

It’s not from intuition itself.

It comes from:

  • Not understanding what you’re experiencing
  • Not trusting yourself to navigate it

And when you don’t trust yourself…

Everything can feel uncertain.

A Personal Insight

When I reconnect with my own gatekeeper, he always appears in a very distinct way.

A blend of something like an ancient Samurai and a Mongol warrior.

Strong. Grounded. Uncompromising.

For a long time, I tried to make logical sense of that.

To work out exactly where he “came from”.

But over time, I realised something important…

I didn’t need to fully explain it to trust it.

And that’s often where people get stuck.

Trying to understand everything before they allow themselves to trust anything.

Boundaries Matter More Than You Think

This is the part most people overlook.

Your day-to-day boundaries affect your intuitive and spiritual experiences.

  • If you struggle to say no…
  • If you allow people to overstep…
  • If you feel pulled in different directions…

That shows up here too.

I often hear people say:

“Spirit wakes me up at 3am”

And I’ll ask them:

“Would you answer a work call at 3am?”

The answer is always no.

And that’s where we begin.

Because this is about boundaries.

Not just spiritually…but in your life.

You Are Not Powerless in This

This isn’t something that happens to you.

It’s something you are in relationship with.

And when you understand that…

Everything changes.

You feel:

  • More grounded
  • More in control
  • More trusting of yourself

A Simple Way to Begin Connecting

You don’t need to do anything complicated.

You don’t need to “see” anything.

You don’t need to force an experience.

Just start here.

Mini Exercise: Meeting Your Gatekeeper

Find a quiet moment where you won’t be disturbed.

Sit comfortably and gently close your eyes.

Take a slow breath in…and out.

And just begin to notice how you feel.

Now, bring your awareness to the idea of your gatekeeper.

No pressure to see anything.

Just allow whatever comes… to come.

You might notice:

  • A feeling
  • A sense of presence
  • An image
  • Or simply a knowing

Silently ask:

“What do I need to know about feeling safe and supported?”

And just notice what comes up.

Without analysing it.

Without trying to make sense of it.

Stay here for a few moments.

Then gently bring your awareness back.

You might find that something very subtle shifts.

A sense of calm.

A sense of reassurance.

A feeling that you’re not doing this alone.

And that’s where trust begins.

Not in big, dramatic moments.

But in quiet awareness.
